We have used Hickman Brothers on various occasions, they are very professional and listen to your requirements as we had a very uneven and ugly garden and Hickman Brothers totally transformed our garden into a peaceful oasis that is a joy to spend time in. The nursery and garden shop is also well stocked with tools, furniture and almost every kind of plant or tree you need. I will be returning to buy most of my Christmas gifts there too including the tree!! All they need is a cafe and I’d spend all day there!! Lovely staff too! 100% recommend

Bought some wood very helpful

I visited Hickmans last week. As I went into the garden centre there were 3 ladies sat down in the reception area. There were no other customers around so nice and quiet. I was asking for some items I needed and was directed to them..."out that door, turn left and go down there on the right". Not particularly helpful...I hadn't a clue where I was heading and when I got there I needed help/advice. No one was in the poly tunnel to help either. It would have been nice if one of the staff could have shown me to the plants I was looking for rather than 3 of them sat there laughing and chatting. When I went back to pay I asked for some compost which I paid for. Again...not one of them asked if I needed any help with getting it to the car or show me where the trolleys were. Overall, customer service was non existent. A really disappointing trip which could have been made so much better if just one of the staff had bothered to help. After speaking with a friend that night about it she had received the same service from the staff in the reception a few months previous and has refused to buy anything from them again. Which is a shame as she lives less than 3 miles away.

Absolutely amazing! There was so much there I didn't know where to start first!there were flowers and plants to buy! There was a section of old tools and very cheap prices! Then there was a section where wood was sold, like fencing, trellis for plants that like to grow and tangle themselves into other plants! They also had trellis to fit on top of fencing, with all different designs! I was looking for a vase that was straight and about 8 inches in diameter and I found one! I'm going to put my orchid in there, at the moment it's still flowering so I can't move it at the moment, but I can't wait to see it is this beautiful vase! In the next month they'll be putting their Christmas products out! Will definitely be going back to see the Christmas lights, trees, presents and anything else I want! I would definitely recommend to everyone and anyone go there and see for yourselves! xXx

Great new shop with even better selection of goods

I thought this business was only for landscaper/gardener tradeperson. Having now visited, owing to having a requirement for a small bag of sharp sands, I was able to get this here. Anyway we got carried away, as they have household and garden tools, as well as young trees, patio slabs etc, so we purchased more stuff than we expected. Only gave 3 star as I was sure I was overcharged by approx £6, but I wasn't given receipts of individual items but only total cost, too late to go back and complain as I don't have proof.

Little hidden gem . Fost time in there just to get some sand and find lots more useful items .wanderful.
